Leonard Slatkin – Monday/Tuesday Concerts

Dear Friends, A quick note to remind you of the “A Tale of Two Suites” concerts Monday and Tuesday evenings with Guest Artist Leonard Slatkin. This concert pair ends our 13th Subscription Season. Due to some unfortunate circumstances, we had to make a change to the program replacing Stravinsky’s The Soldier’s Tale with the charming Holst- St. Paul’s Suite. This last minute change makes the concert a bit shorter than usual so we will dispense with an intermission. Tickets can be purchased by calling CMSSL at 314-941-6309 or through MetroTix. All ticket holders for Monday and Tuesday are invited to the End of Season reception hosted by Audrey Rothbarth honoring Concert Sponsors, Larry and Ellen Condie, Leonard Slatkin and all of our Concert Sponsors this year for whom we were not able to celebrate with a reception. For everyone’s safety, the reception will be outside at the Vertical Garden on the west wall of the Sheldon. Please join Leonard Slatkin and CMSSL musicians for some wonderful music and festivity. Warmest regards, Marc

2022-23 CMSSL Season Announced

Chamber Music Society of St Louis will have a new look in the fall. We are moving our concert series to the E. Desmond Lee Concert Hall at 560 Music Center in University City. As you may know, this hall has a wonderful sound, a magnificent Steinway piano and very comfortable seats. It will provide patrons, musicians and guest artists with excellent facilities as well as ample FREE garage and on-street parking. We believe this will provide a wonderful concert experience! Increasing scheduling challenges have instigated a change in our format. In 2022-23 we will move away from Monday/Tuesday concert pairs to single Monday night performances only. Leonard Slatkin and Nicholas McGegan will join us again this coming season, as well as Ragtime expert Andrew Greene leading CMSSL musicians performing the music to One Week, a silent movie with Buster Keaton. Jazz piano duo Stephanie Trick and Paolo Alderighi return with their entertaining piano four hands, and, of course, we’ll provide an opportunity for you to choose the pieces for a program with “All About You Again.” We received lots of comments on how much fun everyone had participating in the musical contest “Guess Who?” last year. This year we plan to bring it back again, but in a version that is a little more ‘guess’ friendly…”Guess Who? The Return.” View 2022-23 Calendar of Events Here To make concerts available to those who may not be able to attend in person, we offer the Virtual Performance Pass; access to all 12 programs streamed via our website one week following each live performance.
