Leonard Slatkin Update and Gala News

May 15, 2018: Leonard was discharged from the hospital yesterday (Tuesday) evening. He is home, doing well and will be undergoing physical therapy as part of his recovery process. May 8,2018: We are very happy to report that Leonard Slatkin is now resting comfortably following a successful triple bypass operation today. The surgeon said that all aspects of the procedure were accomplished without problems and that Leonard is expected to be fully recovered in about three months. After discussions with Cindy McTee Slatkin, CMSSL Board Chair Tom Voss, Honorary Gala Chair Noémi Neidorff and our event planner,  Absolutely IN! Events, we have made the decision to postpone our 10th Anniversary Gala event until the fall. It is simply out of the question to try to replace Leonard Slatkin for a program with music that revolves around him and his stories/experiences related to the music on our program. By fall Leonard should be recovered, the move to his new home in St. Louis completed and he will not have to travel to get here. We will explore a new date for our 10th Anniversary Gala Event as soon as Leonard is out of the hospital and we are all breathing more easily. Of course, we will keep you updated once the date is established.
