Classical music is often associated with formality, even a bit of stuffiness.That’s due in part to the logistics of a 100-piece orchestra on a big stage. There’s little opportunity for interaction between the symphony and audience. At the conclusion of a concert at Powell Hall, members of the string section don’t throw picks to the well-bred Town and Country folks in the orchestra seats.
